What We do

As a trader, Scipio’s primary role is to identify market failures and source commodities from countries with an export surplus and deliver them to countries with a domestic deficit. This activity is also known as arbitrage.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, food security is the biggest humanitarian and political challenge. To meet this urgent need, Scipio focuses on the most basic of foodstuffs – white maize, rice and sugar – and regularly participates in United Nations World Food Program approved tenders such as delivering white maize to Burundi, Cameroon and Madagascar.
